Why are antioxidants so important?

Antioxidants protect against free radicals

An essential factor for early aging and negatively influencing well-being is oxidative stress. This arises when the body produces too many free radicals. Stress, unhealthy lifestyle (for example smoking, alcohol consumption) and stressful environmental influences (for example, ultraviolet radiation, exhaust gases) favor this process.

To prevent oxidative stress and strengthen your well-being, you need to supply sufficient antioxidants to your body. Antioxidants are known as free radical scavengers. They neutralize free radicals and protect you from their damaging effect.

Most relevant aspects for well-being

To strengthen your well-being, it is advisable to ensure a sufficiently high antioxidant level.

An increase can be done by suitable diet, moderate physical exercise and stress reduction.

With a conscious and vitamin-rich diet you make sure that your body is constantly supplied with enough antioxidants. These are mainly found in fresh fruits and vegetables.

TRIÄT – The Challenge with Attila Hildmann

The TRIÄT Challenge was a nationwide health campaign in Germany, initiated by vegan cook and bestseller author Attila Hildman, Reformhaus® (food store chain) and biozoom®. TRIÄT stands for healthy nutrition, exercising and stress reduction. Ten thousands of participants attended  the challenge in the food stores. Over a time span of at least six weeks, challengers should eat more vitamin-rich foods, exercise moderately and reduce stress factors in everyday life. On this behalf, the antioxidant level – the body’s defenses – increased in order to reduce the risk for well-being and early aging processes. The goal of the campaign was to motivate people to acquire a lastingly healthier lifestyle due to the positive experiences they made during the challenge. The campaign was a big success.
